Requirements

  • 5+ years’ Experience using Mastercam
  • 5+ years’ CNC machining operation experience
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Exhibits judgment in leading others to objectives with excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Organized, self-motivated, manage multiple tasks and/or priorities, easily adaptable to change.
  • Must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Associate's degree or higher in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Machining Technology, or a related technical field.
  • Experience programming 5-axis simultaneous machining centers, mill-turns, or Swiss-style CNC machines.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5), tooling optimization, and machining of aerospace materials such as titanium, Inconel, and stainless steel.
  • Experience with CAD software such as SolidWorks or Siemens NX and familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
  • Knowledge of AS9100, AS9102 First Article Inspection requirements, and aerospace manufacturing quality standards.
  • Experience supporting continuous improvement initiatives, including cycle time reduction, process optimization, and new product integration.

Responsibilities

  • Plans and develops machining processes and programs for the manufacturing of products in 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers and CNC lathes.
  • Assists in process improvement and cost reductions through productivity improvement and machine time reductions.
  • Tests tools and new product programs.
  • Responsible for the CAD system that generates computer models of the parts.
  • Develops machine processes and programs for manufacturing products in 3, 4, and 5-axis machining centers and CNC lathes, interfacing with various engineering and production personnel.
  • Analyzes part drawings, sketches, and design data to determine cutting parameters and selects appropriate tools, speeds, and feeds.
  • Performs debugging and testing of CNC programs.
  • Develops and maintains CNC programs for multi-axis lathes and mills using a 3D programming CAD system.
  • Writes instruction sheets and tool lists for setup and operation.
  • Observes machine operations during trial runs to verify program accuracy.
  • Revises programs to correct errors or omissions.
  • Performs cutting tool evaluations, cost analysis, and new technology implementation, and analyzes tooling failures.
  • Focuses on Cycle Time Reduction by adjusting feed and speeds, optimizing machine moves, and evaluating cutters.
  • Maintains status reports on program availability.
  • Receives, loads, verifies, and stores digital data from customers according to the CAD/CAM/CAI Quality Assurance Plan.
  • Ensures synchronization of software revision levels with customer requirements and notifies customers of changes.
  • Works with estimating staff to support company proposal efforts and ensure synchronization between sales, estimating, programming, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Adheres to all workplace safety guidelines, policies, and laws, and ensures department personnel compliance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
