About The Position

General Plastics Manufacturing Company, a premier aerospace manufacturer in Tacoma, is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team. This role offers the opportunity to earn $100K per year or more in total compensation and build a lasting career. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of industry experience, with at least 5 years in setup and 5 years in programming, utilizing Mastercam with Haas and CMS machines and Haas and Fanuc controls.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience setting up with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Programming using Mastercam.
  • Experienced with Haas and Fanuc.
  • Excellent mechanical aptitude.
  • Knowledgeable about CNC maintenance and all equipment capabilities.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Excellent print reading skills and interpreting GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994, or later, standard.
  • Must be able to receive and interpret instructions and directions from supervisors and peers.
  • Must demonstrate good judgment to perform the job correctly and safely.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience machining plastics or composites strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Write programs in Mastercam for complete parts including fixture, jigs, tools, and work-aids for any setups required.
  • Ability to operate all machines with minimal direction.
  • Run multiple CNC machines simultaneously.
  • Ability to edit CNC programs at the machine or with CAM programming.
  • Experience and familiarity with 3, 4, and 5 axis machines.
  • Review all engineering, work instructions and affiliated tooling for clarity and quality.
  • Work well with CNC team members.
  • Experience with set up and precision hand tools.
  • Demonstrated ability with completing work orders and meeting stringent customer timelines.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Must have experience with aerospace components.
