About The Position

The CNC Programmer/Machinist will be responsible for writing, testing, and optimizing CNC programs used to produce precision machined parts. This role requires strong technical knowledge of CAD/CAM software, machining principles, and blueprint interpretation to ensure parts are produced accurately, efficiently, and to specification. Safely and efficiently operating CNC and manual equipment to support daily production. This role ensures adherence to quality standards, troubleshooting, and routine maintenance, and collaborates with team members to maintain workflow and part accuracy.

Requirements

  • Strong technical knowledge of CAD/CAM software
  • Strong technical knowledge of machining principles
  • Blueprint interpretation skills
  • Experience with CNC machining centers, lathes, and manual equipment
  • Experience developing, writing, and editing CNC programs (G-code/M-code)
  • Experience interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models (CAD files)
  • Experience using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, Esprit)
  • Experience setting up and testing new programs on the shop floor
  • Experience troubleshooting and resolving programming or machining issues
  • Experience performing inspections and quality checks using measuring tools

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient day-to-day operation of the facility and safety and wellness of all team members.
  • Responsible to ensure process adherence to all applicable quality procedures to assure quality product with priority for patient safety.
  • Communicate regularly in a respectful and collaborative fashion with members of the team to promote teamwork and maintain high level of morale.
  • Operate, and maintain CNC machining centers, lathes, and manual equipment.
  • Manage tools and materials to maintain continuous workflow and operational efficiency.
  • Perform inspections and quality checks, using measuring tools and reporting any deviations or issues.
  • Develop, write, and edit CNC programs (G-code/M-code) for mills, lathes, and/or multi-axis machining center
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and 3D models (CAD files) to determine machining requirements
  • Use CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, SolidWorks CAM, Esprit) to generate toolpaths
  • Set up and test new programs on the shop floor, making adjustments as needed
  • Troubleshoot and resolve programming or machining issues to minimize downtime
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, machinists, and project managers to ensure alignment and resolve technical challenges.
  • Recommend process improvements to reduce cycle time and improve efficiency
  • Interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure correct dimensions, tolerances, and materials are used.
  • Contribute to a clean, safe, and efficient work environment by performing routine maintenance and supporting team efforts as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, contributing to overall teamwork and plant efficiency
