About The Position
Steel Craft Technologies (SCT) is seeking a CNC Programmer/Machinist to join their team in Grand Rapids, MI! The CNC Programmer/Machinist produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine.
Requirements
- Experience with 3 axis mills
- A well rounded knowledge of cutters and inserts, and feeds/speeds.
- High school or equivalent education.
- Valid driver’s license
- Two years of machining experience
- Two years programming experience using a Cam software
Nice To Haves
- Experience with multi axis mills and probing
- Five years of machining experience
- Five years programming experience using Fusion 360 or similar Cam software
Responsibilities
- Interpret Cad drawings and solid models
- Generate documentation for set up sheets, programs, inspection reports and offline work sheets.
- Generate and post tool paths with CAM software
- Download programs and MDI (Manual Data Input) as needed.
- Setup and machine to the proper programs and tolerances required.
- Recheck setups, change cutters and inserts, and make adjustments as needed to achieve the best possible results.
- Maintain appropriate tools and keep current on calibration.
- Keep work area clean.
- Follow all safety rules and report unsafe work conditions to management.
- Regular attendance at work during scheduled work hours.
- Operate overhead cranes
