The CNC Process Engineer analyzes product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine the best method for production using existing manufacturing processes. This role involves creating, implementing, and troubleshooting CNC programs for new parts start-ups, and determining the feasibility of designing new tooling or equipment. The engineer provides technical information on manufacturing processes, materials, and properties, and confers with customers to resolve design or process issues. They also direct and coordinate the manufacturing of prototypes, confer with vendors, and estimate production times and costs. A key aspect of this role is developing, evaluating, and improving manufacturing methods to increase production levels while enhancing cost, yield, quality, and safety. The engineer will troubleshoot process problems, develop and update process procedures, and determine test methods for engineering changes. They are expected to stay current with new technologies and assist in new product development. Additionally, the role involves performing technical presentations to customers and assisting in sales proposal documentation.
