About The Position

This position involves setting up, adjusting, and operating a plasma cutting machine to cut raw steel and stainless steel sheets and plates. The role requires working from various instructions including verbal, drawings, blueprints, sketches, work tickets, and nesting reports. Responsibilities include grinding, de-burring, selecting raw materials, positioning materials using an overhead crane, and performing machine cleaning and maintenance. The employee must report any abnormal equipment conditions and adhere to all safety rules, keeping the work area clean and orderly. The role also requires the ability to read a tape measure and metal thickness gauge, and may involve operating a metal band saw or iron worker.

Requirements

Able to read a tape measure and metal thickness gauge.
High School Diploma or G.E.D.
Related experience or completed training.
Advanced computer skills specifically Microsoft products.

Trade School Certification
Similar or related product knowledge.
Experience in a production environment.

Responsibilities

Setting up, adjusting, and operating the plasma cutting machine to cut raw steel and stainless steel sheets and plates as assigned.
Working from verbal instructions, drawings, blueprints, sketches, work tickets, nesting reports, etc.
Grinding, de-buring, and reaming edges/holes as required.
Selecting raw materials to be cut per job ticket instructions.
Positioning materials on machine table by using an overhead crane and following job ticket instructions.
Performing machine cleaning and maintenance operations as required.
Reporting abnormal conditions of equipment to supervision.
Observing all safety rules and regulations and keeping work area clean and orderly.
Operating a metal band saw or iron worker to cut steel for parts (may be required).
