This Operator/Programmer role is primarily responsible for machining operations while also supporting shop-floor programming activities as business needs require. The employee balances hands-on production work with programming responsibilities, including troubleshooting production program issues, developing offline CNC programs for critical paths or bottlenecks, and supporting new product introductions and project-related programming. The role also improves programming efficiency to optimize cycle times, increase throughput, and maximize machine utilization. The employee performs and accurately documents manufacturing activities in alignment with company objectives and quality standards, manages multiple concurrent tasks, and adapts to changing priorities in a dynamic production environment. Duties include safely setting up and operating lathes, mills, and CNC machines; applying shop mathematics and using charts and tables; training and assisting other CNC setup operators; following factory work orders, prints, and written or verbal instructions; and notifying the supervisor of shop and tooling requirements. The employee operates CNC machines as assigned and may operate more than one machine simultaneously. The schedule is Friday through Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Additional duties may vary based on departmental needs. The employee must work safely, follow company safety and environmental requirements, and participate in required EHS training.
