This is an Operator/Programmer role primarily responsible for machining operations, while also supporting programming activities on the shop floor. The role balances hands-on production work with programming responsibilities according to business needs. It includes troubleshooting and resolving production program issues; developing offline CNC programs for critical paths or bottlenecks based on shop-floor priorities; supporting new product introductions and project-related programming; and improving programming efficiency to optimize cycle times, increase throughput, and maximize machine utilization. The employee performs and accurately documents manufacturing activities in accordance with company objectives and quality standards. The position requires managing concurrent tasks and adapting to changing priorities in a dynamic production environment. The employee sets up and operates lathes, mills, and CNC machines safely and efficiently, works from factory work orders, prints, and written or verbal instructions, and uses shop mathematics, charts, and tables. The role may involve operating more than one machine at a time, training and assisting other CNC set-up operators, and notifying the supervisor of shop and tooling requirements. The scheduled shift is Friday through Sunday, 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. The employee must follow safety and environmental requirements, participate in EHS training, and complete other duties as departmental needs vary.
