About The Position

The CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC equipment to cut, shape, form, or grind metal workpieces according to production requirements. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to safety protocols, and maintaining quality standards in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines and related equipment following all safety guidelines, operating procedures, company policies, and standard work.
  • Maintain equipment through 5S and Preventive Maintenance procedures, including end-of-shift cleaning and maintaining an organized work area.
  • Load, position, and secure materials or parts using fixtures, chucks, or other work-holding devices per process requirements.
  • Review work order documentation to ensure proper revisions and material identification align with shop order requirements.
  • Make tooling offsets as needed to maintain dimensional accuracy, dependent on the type of CNC machine being operated.
  • Interpret and understand work instructions, part prints, tool sheets, and CMM reports to ensure parts are produced to product specifications and standards.
  • Perform quality checks using conventional measuring instruments such as micrometers, precision scales, calipers, and indicators.
  • Identify and report machine malfunctions or non-conforming parts to the Jobsetter and Shift Supervisor in a timely manner to ensure issues are addressed accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety policies, quality standards, and production goals.
  • Perform other responsibilities, tasks, and duties as assigned.
