About The Position

PTC is a leading manufacturer and marketer of welded and cold-drawn mechanical steel tubing and tubular shapes, plated bar and tubing, and fabricated parts and precision components. Uses a CNC machine to efficiently thread OCTG (pipe) goods in accordance with applicable safety and quality standards. Maintains accurate records and adjusts, maintains machine as necessary to promote quality and throughput of production line.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or general education degree (GED)
• 1 year operating industrial CNC machinery
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using while numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Must be computer literate and able to work with programs such as Word, Excel, etc., and be able to learn and use HP programs such as e-mail, ERP system, etc.
• Able to use precision hand tools such as square, protractor, and caliper
• The incumbent is expected to understand that all employees have a shared responsibility for the quality of products and related services provided to our customers. Duties and responsibilities are to be carried out in accordance with the PTC Quality Management System and its policies, procedures, and work instructions as applicable to the job or function being performed.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC machine safely and efficiently including the machine set-up, changeover, and threading of steel pipes.
• Adjust settings as needed based on technical parameters and results of thread inspection.
• Perform basic thread inspection tasks to identify non-conforming thread elements.
• Perform and record preventive maintenance tasks, provide feedback to staff based on machine performance.
• Provide regular feedback to shift lead/supervisor, including performance data of consumables and spare parts.
• Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
• Other duties as assigned
