Requirements

  • 2-4 year degree, desired (Technical and/or Vocation degree- Metal machining/Apprenticeship) and/or equivalent experience as operator)
  • 0-2 years experience within the cutting tool industry working with and/or programming CNC machines or Tool and Cutter Grinders such as: Saacke, Walters, Anca or Strausak machines (3-5 years desired experience)
  • Demonstrated experience with metal cutting principles: power, thrust, balance, microfinishes, geometries
  • Good Active listening; Verbal and written communication

  • Willingness to work all shifts and when necessary overtime

  • Demonstrated ability in solving problems within the team and the overall operation

Responsibilities

  • Set-up and operate CNC tool and cutter grinding machines.
  • Program and grind tool to the MAPAL standards.
  • Ensure all tooling is inspected for proper manufacturing to blue print specifications and MAPAL standards.
  • Tool measurement and testing according to blue prints with appropriate measurement tools like digital micrometer gauge, caliper, 3-axis measuring device type Zoller as well as simple table measuring device type Uniscale.
  • Produce product in accordance with ISO processes and procedures; job router time and manufacturing capacity.
  • Implement and inspect machine maintenance according to maintenance schedule.
  • Exceeds and exhibit all MAPAL Inc. behaviors as defined by policy, procedure and standards.
  • Ensure written flow charts, work instructions and/or standards for each position responsibility is consistent and accurate. Update, refine and adjust as needed or required.
  • Actively participates in all cross-functional team projects and assignments as directed by Plant Manager.
