About The Position

Freeman Boatworks is seeking a CNC Operator to join their growing team. This role is crucial to the production process, involving the preparation and operation of CNC machines for cutting fiberglass kits, organizing and labeling materials, tracking inventory, and ensuring the timely availability of correct parts for each build. The ideal candidate will enjoy hands-on work, possess a keen eye for detail, and thrive in a team environment where pride in craftsmanship is valued.

Requirements

Previous CNC operator or Eastman machinery experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, reaching, bending, and squatting
Stand and walk for 8+ hours per shift
Work in awkward positions or tight spaces as needed
Comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment
Tolerance for exposure to heat, cold, dust, fumes, and outdoor elements
Possible exposure to acetone, resin, fiberglass, putties, glues, and cleaners

Responsibilities

Handle materials safely and in accordance with company procedures
Set up, operate, and/or program CNC machinery as required
Follow all safety policies and procedures
Perform routine equipment inspections and preventative maintenance
Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and work instructions
Inspect finished components to ensure quality and specification requirements are met
Complete required production and quality documentation accurately
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
Follow direction from supervisors and team leads while meeting production expectations
Collaborate effectively with team members across departments
