We are currently hiring motivated and skilled CNC Operators to join our growing team in Columbus, IN. After successfully completing your 90-day probationary period , you will receive a $1.00 per hour raise . This is a temp-to-hire opportunity (not direct placement). Candidates must submit a resume and demonstrate stable work history. The CNC Operator is responsible for ensuring machines produce high-quality products efficiently and within established quality standards. This role operates lathes, milling machines, boring machines, CNC equipment, and grinders according to work instructions and engineering drawings. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, disciplined, and capable of reading blueprints and troubleshooting problems as they arise.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of CNC machining experience preferred
  • Prior manufacturing experience required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints
  • Experience using measuring tools (calipers, dial indicators, plug gauges, etc.)
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Follow all plant safety policies and procedures
  • Promote safe work practices and identify hazards
  • Maintain a safe, quality-focused work environment
  • Set up machines, run parts, and perform preventative maintenance (PM)
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Monitor equipment performance and resolve or report abnormalities
  • Reset automation and machine faults (including robots and vision systems)
  • Use gauges and measuring tools to verify tolerances
  • Inspect, deburr, and perform manual finishing operations as needed
  • Select and preset tooling for upcoming jobs
  • Perform daily machine checks and make minor adjustments to maintain Safety, Quality, and Productivity
  • Review work instructions, TPM sheets, and process documentation daily
  • Follow all quality policies and specifications
  • Perform required part inspections before and after processing
  • Adhere to CARs, PARs, NCRs, process controls, and preventative maintenance requirements
  • Complete required documentation accurately and on time
  • Participate in TPM teams and root cause analysis
  • Support cost reduction and process improvement initiatives
  • Engage in Fast Response, 8D, and other continuous improvement activities
  • Maintain housekeeping standards in accordance with 5S
  • Follow direction from Production Management
  • Demonstrate professionalism and leadership
  • Communicate safety, quality, and operational concerns promptly
