About The Position

We are seeking a CNC Operator / Programmer with a background in woodworking operations to join our team in a small, fast-paced manufacturing environment. This individual will be responsible for programming and operating CNC equipment for wood processing.

Requirements

3+ years of experience in woodworking, custom manufacturing, or a related environment (or an equivalent combination of education and experience).
Experience with CNC programming preferred (G-code, Mastercam, Fusion 360, or MozaiK).
Knowledge of lean manufacturing, process optimization, and production scheduling.
Ability to perform basic mathematical computations, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions, applied to practical shop situations.
Strong analytical and Excel skills; familiarity with ERP/MRP systems.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills; comfortable working hands-on in a warehouse production setting.

Nice To Haves

Experience in wood machining, finishing, and assembly operations.
Familiarity with custom or small-batch production environments.
Work closely with management and shop teams to innovate and improve processes.

Responsibilities

Support daily production scheduling, including resource planning and coordination with shop personnel.
Create, edit, and interpret CNC programs (including B-Solid programming) for routers, saws, and other woodworking machinery.
Select appropriate tooling, fixtures, feeds, and speeds based on wood species and process type; recognize and deploy inserts and fixtures correctly.
Understand and interpret blueprints to guide setup and machining decisions.
Test and validate CNC programs, using gages and measuring instruments and performing tool wear offsets to ensure precision, safety, and repeatability within tolerance requirements.
Properly and safely load and unload castings and raw materials in CNC machinery.
Perform regular cleaning and light maintenance on CNC machinery.
Support continuous improvement in machining processes, setups, and fixture design.
Collaborate with engineering, design, and production teams to implement product changes.
Perform all tasks safely and responsibly, complying with ISO requirements, safety procedures, and all quality policies, specifications, and regulations.
