About The Position

This role involves operating mills and lathes according to work instructions and job orders to ensure repeatability in quality parts and produce the required quantities. The operator will be responsible for loading stock, verifying settings through measurements, and maintaining specifications by observing operations and taking measurements. This position also requires maintaining safe operations, equipment maintenance, and ensuring continuity between shifts through documentation and communication. The operator will also update job knowledge and contribute to organizational goals by adding value to job accomplishments.

Requirements

  • Operates mills and lathes by following instructions, including zero and reference points.
  • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; adhering to international standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards.
