About The Position

The CNC Coordinator oversees CNC machining operations, focusing on training and developing operators to ensure efficient production and teamwork. This role is the liaison between the production and programming teams to optimize processes and maintain adherence to production schedules. Key responsibilities include enforcing safety standards, creating standard operating procedures (SOPs), and managing quality control to meet specified tolerances. The coordinator also performs routine maintenance on CNC machines and adjusts programming as needed for quality and waste management. Proficiency in CNC programming languages, CAD software, and blueprint reading essential. Strong communication and leadership skills are required to enhance operational efficiency and ensure high-quality manufacturing standards. Seeking a candidate with strong math skills, excellent communication abilities, mechanical aptitude, and leadership qualities, willing to train the right individual who can also train others.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • 2-5 years of experience as a CNC machine operator and knowledgeable of operations.
  • Prior experience as supervisor or team leader preferred.
  • Computer proficient in CAD language, MS 365 Suite, ZOHO or other reporting systems.
  • Familiar with quality control processes and inspection methods.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to train and mentor operators effectively.
  • Troubleshooting skills.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in a manufacturing setting.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Highly proficient with use of measuring tools and other basic tools.
  • Well organized, creative problem solver, and maintains a positive attitude.
  • Self-motivated and capable of operating with minimal supervision.
  • Reliable individual with excellent time and attendance record.

Nice To Haves

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CNC machining, programming, or quality control certification) can be an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Train and develop CNC operators to create effective teams and ensure efficient shift production.
  • Collaborates with production and programming teams for updates, production reports, and to optimize programming requirements.
  • Responsible for training CNC operators in safety protocols and best practices. Enforce safety standards and establish guidelines that promote a safe working environment.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and updates on procedures based on industry standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Monitor equipment and tool maintenance to ensure operational readiness.
  • Create, update, and implement CNC operational standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Adjust CNC program files and sequencing. Adjust geometry for quality control samples, waste management, and out-of-square paneling.
  • Clear trimmings and waste during interruptions to prevent machine damage.
  • Maintain and inspect tooling and equipment.
  • Submit purchase requests as necessary to management.
  • Manage quality control requirements, measuring cut products against shop drawings for accuracy.
  • Review programs, specifications, or blueprints to set machine operations and sequencing.
  • Reviews production information and Kanban status in Zoho.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by managers.
