About The Position

Teknion Custom Solutions is looking for a skilled CNC Machine Operator to join their team. They are seeking a professional who can bring technical drawings to life while upholding high-quality standards. Candidates should have strong experience with Biesse, SCM, or Homag CNC machines and a sharp eye for precision.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a CNC machine operator.
  • Proven expertise in operating Biesse, SCM, or Homag CNC machines and performing tool calibrations.
  • Demonstrated ability to be a team player, follow supervisor instructions, and contribute to a positive shop environment.
  • An inquisitive nature driven by the pursuit of excellence to consistently ensure constant growth and achievement.
  • Demonstrated initiative in working safely, reporting hazards, and participating in Environmental Health and Safety.

Nice To Haves

  • 1–2 years of experience in a wood or manufacturing shop.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate Biesse, SCM, or Homag CNC machines to produce wood components according to specific work orders and technical drawings.
  • Load raw materials onto the machine bed, ensuring proper alignment, and initiate machining cycles.
  • Monitor the machining process to ensure parts are being cut correctly and troubleshoot any issues that arise during the run.
  • Be familiar with the start-up and shut-down procedures for the machine and perform the daily, weekly, and periodical maintenance required to keep the machines in good working order.
  • Be aware of the hazards when working around CNC machines and any other tools or equipment used in the area; ensure all safety control measures and guards are used at all times without exception.
  • Maintain a general knowledge of veneer species, cuts, and different matching patterns.
  • Stack product being unloaded from the machines so debris or chips in between the layers won’t damage the finish.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and small tools, such as digital calipers, hex wrenches, chisels, and files, to verify part accuracy and perform manual adjustments.
  • Ensure all products moving through the production process are accompanied by their work order package for detailed instruction.
