The company’s capabilities include high-speed CNC Lathes, Mills, Gear Grinders, and Finishing, among others. The company specializes in small, medium, and large-scale aircraft assemblies of varying complexity for the commercial aerospace and defense industry. Delta also services the automotive industry with precision gears and machined parts.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma or GED
  • Prior hands-on CNC experience, including set-up and troubleshooting preferred, but not required
  • Understanding of GD&T.
  • Ability to evaluate quality and make machine adjustments as needed to maintain product conformance to sketches
  • Good oral communicator including understanding written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.
  • U.S. Citizens or have Permanent Resident Status due to ITAR business restrictions.

Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC OD/ID grinding equipment with minimal supervision.
  • Review and adhere to routers, sketches, set-up sheets, machining instructions to meet specific operation specifications including tool requirements, wheel grades, dressing frequency, speeds and feeds.
  • Maintain proper documentation for SPC data collection.
  • Inspect work using a variety of measurement tools such as micrometers, bore gages indicators and amps.
  • Responsible for maintaining production cycle times.
  • Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs as required.
  • Remove of all loose/hanging metallic burrs using assorted powered and non-powered abrasive tools.
  • Blending of metallic surface finishes to meet specifications on work instructions.
  • Work with fine finishes and dimensions using various scopes with up to 30 power magnification.
  • Identify any and all visual discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
  • Inspection and be accountability for parts produced through various steps.
  • Perform secondary work such as polishing, part cleaning and corrosion prevention.
  • Set up and operate CNC Gear Hobing and Shaping equipment with minimal to no supervision.
  • Cutting gear and spline teeth and holding tolerances of between .001"-.0001" on lead and involute.
  • Run a CNC gear inspection machine along with micrometers, gages and amps.
  • Maintain proper documentation of SPC data and collaborate with management staff and supervisor.
  • Verify part quantity with the job traveler.
  • Make machine adjustments as required to maintain print specifications.
  • Load and unload machines as per the cycle time noted on the traveler.
  • Determine when wheels need replacement.
  • Assist in determining tooling & fixturing needs.
