About The Position

Sturtevant Richmont, a division of Snap-on Incorporated, is seeking a CNC Operator/Programmer to set up and operate computer numeric controlled machines, including Puma lathes and VF CNC mills, as well as auxiliary secondary machines. The position pays $35.71 per hour. The operator works from blueprints, process plans, and tool layout diagrams; plans job setups; reviews processes and tool inventory; loads work and control programs; and conducts trial runs. The role also involves modifying program settings and instructions to maintain job specifications, performing scheduled machine maintenance, and inspecting parts with gauges or other measuring equipment. The operator may assist in training less experienced operators and perform other duties as directed by a supervisor.

Requirements

Two or more years of CNC programming experience.
Knowledge of G-code programming and various codes, including writing programs from part drawings using an off-line computer.
Ability to read engineering drawings.
Ability to interpret tolerances and understand GD&T.
Strong grasp of applied algebra, geometry, and trigonometry for calculating toolpaths, feeds, and speeds.
Understanding of metal behavior, heat tolerances, cutting tool selection, and fixture design.
Ability to work overtime as required.

Responsibilities
