About The Position

The CNC Operator I is responsible for reviewing blueprints, setting up and operating CNC machines, and ensuring quality control. This role involves interpreting technical documents, using precision measuring tools, and maintaining equipment and safety procedures. The operator will also be responsible for documenting work, communicating with team members, and contributing to organizational goals.

Requirements

  • Ability to read and interpret part specifications or blueprints.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good verbal and communication skills.
  • Accurately read and interpret callipers, microammeters, and other precision measuring tools.
  • Ability to inspect and measure parts using precision instruments (callipers, micrometers, etc).
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in CNC machine operation and setup.

Nice To Haves

  • Any experience with Mills, lathes, CNC machines, etc. is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews blueprints to determine setup procedures, machine attachments, and stock requirements.
  • Adjusts machines to meet specified tolerances.
  • Understands blueprints and uses a variety of precision measuring devices.
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, and machining parameters.
  • Interprets geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run parts, and sample workpieces.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations, taking measurements, detecting malfunctions, troubleshooting processes, adjusting controls, and replacing tools.
  • Adheres to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance and troubleshooting malfunctions.
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions and needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership of new requests and exploring opportunities to add value.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
