About The Position

Ducommun is a global provider of innovative manufacturing solutions for customers in the aerospace, defense and industrial markets. We specialize in electronic and structural systems, producing complex products and components for commercial aircraft platforms, mission-critical military and space programs, and sophisticated industrial applications. Our Performance Center in Carson, CA is the Engineered Products Group site for our Human Machine Interface, Motion Control Device, and Radio Frequency (RF) product lines. This role prepares and operates CNC machines to perform tasks such as drilling, turning, grinding, milling, etc. The operator will read blueprints, engineering drawings, and other specifications. They will prep parts and load raw materials onto machinery, perform test runs to ensure machines produce outputs according to specifications, and monitor machines while they execute tasks, making necessary adjustments. The operator will inspect finished products using precision measuring tools, communicate with Quality and Engineering departments regarding non-conforming parts, and inspect and maintain machinery daily. Documentation of quality and quantity of produced parts is also required. Operation of Haas machinery with 3+2 axis control is expected.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a CNC operator and experience with precision measuring tools is required
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints mechanical/engineering documents and drawings.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and math skills
  • Must be able to setup and operate using Haas controller with tool and material probe

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
  • Document the quality and quantity of the produced parts.
