We are seeking a motivated CNC Operator Helper to support our fabrication team in operating CNC press brakes and laser cutting operations. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to build a career in manufacturing. The Helper will assist with material handling, part sorting, and workflow organization while learning the fundamentals required to advance into a CNC Operator role. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED required
Willingness to learn CNC operations and fabrication.
Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
Standing, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Nice To Haves

technical certification or trade school preferred
Experience with CNC fabrication equipment.
Prior manufacturing or material handling experience.
Familiarity with metal fabrication environments.
Basic understanding of measuring tools or blueprints.
Understanding of ISO 9001 or military-grade quality systems.

Responsibilities

Assist CNC operators with loading and unloading raw materials (steel sheets, plate, and formed parts)
Remove cut parts from laser-cut sheets and separate skeleton material
Sort and organize parts by job, part number, and downstream process
Place parts on designated pallets based on routing instructions
Ensure proper identification and traceability of parts
Perform basic visual inspections for defects
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
Support operators and supervisors with general shop tasks
Learn basic CNC functions and fabrication processes
Follow established safety, housekeeping, and environmental practices at all times.
Report equipment issues, tool wear, or material non-conformances to supervision promptly.
Support continuous improvement efforts, including lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
