We are seeking a motivated CNC Operator Helper to support our fabrication team in operating CNC press brakes and laser cutting operations. This is an entry-level position designed for individuals looking to build a career in manufacturing. The Helper will assist with material handling, part sorting, and workflow organization while learning the fundamentals required to advance into a CNC Operator role. This role requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety, and the ability to follow instructions in a fast-paced production environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Willingness to learn CNC operations and fabrication.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work in a team.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong attention to detail, quality, and safety.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Standing, bending, and repetitive motion throughout the shift.
  • Use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.

Nice To Haves

  • technical certification or trade school preferred
  • Experience with CNC fabrication equipment.
  • Prior manufacturing or material handling experience.
  • Familiarity with metal fabrication environments.
  • Basic understanding of measuring tools or blueprints.
  • Understanding of ISO 9001 or military-grade quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Assist CNC operators with loading and unloading raw materials (steel sheets, plate, and formed parts)
  • Remove cut parts from laser-cut sheets and separate skeleton material
  • Sort and organize parts by job, part number, and downstream process
  • Place parts on designated pallets based on routing instructions
  • Ensure proper identification and traceability of parts
  • Perform basic visual inspections for defects
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Follow all safety procedures and PPE requirements
  • Support operators and supervisors with general shop tasks
  • Learn basic CNC functions and fabrication processes
  • Follow established safety, housekeeping, and environmental practices at all times.
  • Report equipment issues, tool wear, or material non-conformances to supervision promptly.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts, including lean manufacturing and 5S initiatives.
