CNC Operator (5-Axis/FANUC)
About The Position
This role involves preparing, maintaining, and operating CNC machines, with a specific focus on 5-axis CNC machines. The operator will be responsible for understanding job specifications by reading blueprints and mechanical drawings, translating these into machine commands, and ensuring the correct material is used. The position requires multitasking, including operating two CNC machines simultaneously, loading/unloading machines, and performing finishing tasks such as deburring, sanding, labeling, and packaging. Material cutting on a Table Saw and/or Band Saw is also part of the duties. The operator will conduct test runs, set machines for full production cycles, supervise machine operations, make necessary adjustments, and inspect finished products to ensure they meet specifications. Daily machinery checks, maintaining a clean and organized work area, and adhering to production schedules and housekeeping requirements are essential.
Requirements
- Experience operating CNC machines, specifically 5-axis machines.
- Proficiency in reading blueprints and mechanical drawings.
- Ability to translate instructions into computer commands.
- Skill in operating two CNC machines simultaneously.
- Experience with loading/unloading CNC machines.
- Proficiency in deburring and inspecting parts.
- Experience with sanding, labeling, and packaging.
- Ability to fill out required forms.
- Experience cutting material on a Table Saw and/or Band Saw.
- Ability to perform test runs and make adjustments.
- Knowledge of machinery maintenance.
- Ability to maintain a lean and organized work area.
- Ability to complete tasks within production schedule timelines.
- Understanding of housekeeping requirements.

Responsibilities
- Prepare, maintain and operate CNC machines, including 5 axes CNC machines.
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, mechanical drawings etc.
- Translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
- Identify and pull correct material required to fill order.
- Multitask and operate two CNC machines simultaneously to produce parts for different orders.
- Load/Unload CNC machine with material/parts being produced.
- Deburr and inspect parts produced according to customer drawing/requirements.
- Perform sanding, deburring, labeling, packaging, filling out required forms, and cutting material.
- Cut material on Table Saw and/or Band Saw.
- Prepare a test run to check if the machines produce outputs according to specifications.
- Set machines to complete full cycles to fabricate large number of parts.
- Supervise the machines while they execute the tasks and make any necessary adjustments to produce a better result.
- Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
- Check and maintain machinery daily to ensure functionality.
- Maintain a lean and organized work area as required for functional and safe work environment.
- Complete assigned tasks within production schedule timeline.
- Responsible for maintaining housekeeping requirements within assigned area/s.
