About The Position

This role involves operating CNC mills and lathes according to work orders and engineering plans (blueprints). The operator will be responsible for setting tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches, as well as calculating requirements using basic math, geometry, and trigonometry (GD&T). Key responsibilities include verifying settings, maintaining specifications through various machining operations, troubleshooting processes, and ensuring quality assurance. The role also requires performing preventive maintenance on equipment, documenting and communicating shift changes, completing production and quality logs, and staying updated through educational opportunities. The operator will contribute to organizational goals by taking ownership of new requests and ensuring parts meet customer and company standards, while adhering to safety procedures.

Requirements

  • Three years’ experience as a CNC Operator I

Responsibilities

  • Operates mills and or lathes by following work orders, engineering plans (blueprints), including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, and conditional switches
  • Calculates requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; (GD&T)
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces; proving out part programs
  • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting offsets; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
  • Maintains equipment by completing assigned preventive maintenance; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling maintenance for repairs and/or assistance
  • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
  • Complete production and quality logs as assigned
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
  • Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests
  • Follow quality standards to ensure parts are to the customer and company standards
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
