About The Position

As a CNC Operator at Schupan, you will keep our precision machining operation running accurately and on schedule. You will operate CNC equipment, inspect finished parts, and help maintain the quality standards our customers depend on.

Requirements

  • Prior related experience and/or training preferred, with reliable work history
  • Basic computer skills including familiarity with inventory and order processing systems
  • Prolonged periods on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive bending and stooping
  • Lift and move materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts
  • Able to work in noisy environment with exposure to moving mechanical parts
  • Knowledge of inventory software and order processing systems.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Lifts, moves, or positions materials weighing up to 50lbs.
  • Visual acuity to read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, extreme cold and heat and outside weather
  • Routinely work in noisy environment
  • Routinely exposed to moving and mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of design techniques and principles for precision technical plans and blueprints
  • Prior knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models

Responsibilities

  • Operate CNC machines, grinders, mills, and similar equipment in accordance with prints and specifications
  • Produce required quantities of parts within established tolerances
  • Measure finished parts with precision tools (micrometer, caliper, height gauge) to ensure compliance with quality specs
  • Conduct quality inspections using calipers, tapes, check fixtures, and drop gauges
  • Inspect equipment before use to ensure proper setup and alignment; perform basic adjustments and maintenance
  • Observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining
  • Maintain logs of units produced including any rejected or discarded pieces
  • Consult with quality assurance to identify and resolve out-of-tolerance issues
  • Follow ISO quality procedures and maintain cleanliness using 5S process
  • Maintain a safe work environment in compliance with MIOSHA regulations
