About The Position

American Photonics is a small, family-owned business established in 2001, specializing in the manufacturing of precision infrared optics for military and industry. This is a full-time, on-site role for a CNC Milling Setup Operator in Sarasota, FL. The CNC Milling Setup Operator will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC milling machines to ensure high-quality production of parts. This involves reading and interpreting technical drawings, selecting and setting up appropriate tools, conducting quality checks, and maintaining machinery for smooth operations. Collaboration with the production team and adherence to safety guidelines are critical aspects of this position.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Machine Operation and Milling techniques
• Strong skills in Machining processes, including setup and troubleshooting
• Experience in Quality Control for ensuring product consistency and precision
• Knowledge of technical drawings, specifications, and operation of machinery
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-accuracy outputs
• Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
• High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in CNC machining is highly preferred
• Additional technical certifications in machining or a related field are a plus
