About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Milling Setup Machinist to join our team. The primary responsibilities include the setup and operation of Horizontal & Vertical machining centers. Prior experience with these machines is mandatory. This role requires a strong understanding of G-Code, the ability to read blueprints, and proficiency with hand measuring tools. You will collaborate with engineering and manufacturing personnel to improve operations and ensure product quality.

Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Completion of an accredited, indentured apprenticeship or equivalent to high school plus a 2-year technical school.
Dependable and a great attitude.
5 years of experience as a CNC Machinist.
Full set of personal tools to perform all tasks of job function.
English language proficiency.

Responsibilities

Setup and operation of Horizontal & Vertical machining centers.
Understanding and knowledge of G-Code with the ability to edit and/or make suggestions to improve existing programs.
Work with engineering, supervisory, and manufacturing personnel to exchange technical information that will continually improve the company and operations.
Read and understand blueprints and drawings, basic understanding of GD&T as well as the ability to work from verbal instructions.
Understand how to use hand measuring tools like pin gages, micrometers, calipers etc. to check parts produced.
Inspect “First Piece” of job Set-Up, verifying and measuring all features that can be checked at the machine to be in tolerance prior to going into inspection. Make adjustments as necessary and submit to inspection for First Article approval.
Enter accurate time for all jobs run via ERP system, working with production planning to ensure it is done properly.
Demonstrate practical knowledge of Good Machining Practices (GMP).
Maintain and provide support to all 5-S program initiatives.
Ensure compliance with workplace policies according to safety objectives and procedures.
