About The Position

Acme Industries, a high-quality precision manufacturing company serving various sectors since 1948, is seeking experienced Milling Machinists for its 2nd shift openings. The 2nd shift operates from 4:20 pm to 2:50 am, Monday through Friday, and receives a 10% shift differential. This position involves operating different CNC milling machines with FANUC operating systems to manufacture quality parts from valuable castings/forgings. Overtime, including weekends during peak production times, may be required. A hire-on bonus is offered for this position.

Requirements

Should be able to read and write English.
Preferred five or more years of combined formal training and experience or equivalent.
Broad knowledge of machining techniques and familiarity with CNC machine tool operating procedures.
Ability to apply recognized tooling and procedures where tolerances are close.
Blueprint reading ability.
Requires a high school diploma/GED or equivalent.
Must be able to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds consistently with heavier weight necessary at times.

Nice To Haves

Basic computer skills are a plus.

Responsibilities

Follow written instructions and read and apply blueprint specifications.
Perform a complex series of progressive machining operations on a diversified line of work to close and exact tolerances and finishing specifications.
Able to perform simple set-ups of many jobs. May operate more than one machine.
Check parts for conformance to specifications.
Comply with safety regulations and maintain a clean, orderly work area.
Perform all other duties as assigned or needed.
