About The Position

This position is for a 2nd Shift CNC Milling Machinist, working from 3:00 pm to 11:30 pm, Monday through Friday, with a 15% differential. The role involves performing complex setups, edits, and operating established and New Product Introduction (NPI) jobs with minimal supervision. The machinist will ensure parts conform to specifications and requirements, making modifications or adjustments as necessary. Responsibilities include verifying dimensions using standard measuring instruments, reading and interpreting blueprints and operations sheets, and collaborating with the engineering department on material conditions, part positioning, and tool pressure. The position also requires detecting faulty operations and materials and reporting issues to the supervisor. This is a safety-sensitive position and requires compliance with FAA and DOT drug and alcohol testing rules. Employment may be contingent on verification of U.S. Person status or obtaining necessary export licenses due to potential access to controlled information or technology.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience machining in an aerospace environment
  • Three (3) or more years of experience setting up and operating CNC Devlieg Milling Machines
  • Familiar with Fanuc controls
  • Strong mathematical skills and knowledge of GD&T
  • Familiar with Statistical Process Control (SPC)

Responsibilities

  • Perform complex set ups, edits and operate established and NPI jobs with minimal supervision ensuring parts conform to specifications and requirements.
  • Make modifications or adjustments as necessary.
  • Verify dimensions using standard measuring instruments, such as micrometers, depth gage, height gage, and vernier.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and operations sheets.
  • Work with engineering department regarding material conditions, best positioning of part, tool pressure, etc. as required.
  • Detect faulty operations and materials and report these along with other problems to immediate supervisor.
