About The Position

Schafer Industries is currently seeking a 1st Shift - CNC Machining Center / Milling Machinist for its Schafer Gear Works operation in Roscoe, Illinois. We currently offer walk-in interviews and a $1,000 sign on bonus.

Sets up and operates conventional, special purpose, and computer numerical control (CNC) machines to fabricate metallic and non-metallic parts. Responsible for solving machine and part problems, maintains a high productivity rate and constantly strives to improve productivity.

Requirements

• Requires physical ability and stamina to perform the essential functions of the position, including the ability to walk, stand, lift, carry up to 50 pounds, push, kneel, bend, stoop, reach over and under waist level, twist for extended periods of time on cement or other hard surfaces, etc.
• Demonstrates the verbal and written communication skills necessary to complete forms and take messages in a legible, accurate manner.
• Two-year certification from technical school and/or.
• Two years of experience in set-ups and running of production.
• Must be able to communicate in English.
• Ability to use a computer.
• United States work authorization

Responsibilities

• Operate assigned machinery to fabricate parts to the required specifications
• Ensures all parts are to the required specifications
• Ensure the operational effectiveness of all assigned equipment
• Responsible for supporting the Schafer Business Process
• Contributes to the overall effectiveness of the company
