About The Position

Sumitomo Electric Carbide Manufacturing is hiring a CNC Milling Machine Operator. The role involves preparing and operating CNC machines for drilling, tapping, milling, and related tasks. Operators follow detailed instructions, standard coding, and operational data to change or mount tools and position workpieces. They check work at specified points and adjust machine and fixture stops to maintain required finishes and tolerances. The operator works from part drawings, uses precision measuring instruments to inspect work, reports machine malfunctions and tooling difficulties, and assists with setups. The position is in a well-lit, clean, temperature-controlled machine shop with moderate noise. Staff may work standing, sitting, bending, and climbing, and will occasionally lift items and work inside machines. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Knowledge of machine shop practices, techniques, and operations.
Basic math, logical reasoning, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
0–2 years of experience.
