About The Position

RH Aero is looking for a skilled 2nd shift CNC Mill/Turn Machinist experienced in operating five-axis and three-axis mills and two-axis lathes. Familiar with Mazak machines and Mazatrol programming a plus.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years’ shop experience using G&M code and ability to edit programs.
  • Mazak machinists must have Mazatrol experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of blueprint reading and geometric dimensions and tolerances.
  • Conceptual skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide and apply concepts of basic algebra, geometry, and trigonometry
  • Excellent verbal communication
  • Reading – ability to read, analyze and interpret safety, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals, and common technical information and reports, including the ability to read and understand blueprints
  • Writing – ability to prepare correspondence that conforms to prescribed style and format
  • Reasoning – ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form; deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations, utilizing critical thinking skills
  • Must have own tools.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiar with Mazak machines and Mazatrol programming a plus.
  • one-year relevant technical school or equivalent experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Produces machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
  • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
  • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.
  • Programs machine by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.
  • Sets up machine as appropriate to machine specifications; Runs 1st part; Proves-out; Runs production.
  • Loads stock into position.
  • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample work pieces, adhering to ISO and AS 9100- standards.
  • Maintains specifications by observing operations pertaining to the specific machine; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
  • Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.
  • Maintain continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.
  • Accomplishes organizational goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests, exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
  • Ability to implement 5S methodologies daily.
