About The Position

We are seeking a skilled CNC Mill Operator (CNC Machinist) for our Defense & Aerospace Machine Shop. This is a night shift position with a 20% night shift differential pay. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship or Valid Permanent Resident status is required. The role involves operating CNC machines, performing daily maintenance, in-process inspection, minor program adjustments, and tool replacement. You will be responsible for proper material handling, identification, and paperwork sign-off to ensure traceability and quality. The ideal candidate will have experience with machine operation, part holding methods, basic CNC code, and installation/removal of tooling. Familiarity with Mazak equipment is a plus. We work with materials such as 304L, Nitronic 60, Inconel 718, 6061, 7075, aermet 100, and D2, holding tolerances of +/- .0003. Our equipment includes Mazak mills/lathes (3X/4X axis), Brother/Methods (3X/4X axis), Yasda mill turns (5X), and Integrex mill turns (5X), utilizing Fanuc/Fadal/Haas controls. Requirements

  • Machine operation.
  • Part holding methods.
  • Machine maintenance requirements.
  • Reading and understanding B/P’s including assemblies, dimensions, tolerances, symbols, notes, abbreviations, geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, and any other standard nomenclature per customer, government, or industry standards.
  • Use of basic inspection, measuring and test equipment to verify dimensions of product.
  • Basic knowledge of CNC code.
  • Installation and removal of perishable tooling.
  • Company specific handling requirements.
  • Company specific product identification requirements.
  • Minimum High School Diploma or trade school.
  • Must be at least 18 years old and Authorized to work in the US.
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Must be able to stand majority of the shift.
  • Sufficient verbal and written communication skills.
  • Good problem solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Loading material / parts into machine and running program.
  • Daily maintenance on machine (checking fluid levels, cleaning out chips, etc).
  • In-process inspection of parts.
  • Minor program changes, mainly tool offsets.
  • Replacement of worn or damaged tools (inserts, boring bars, end mills, drills, etc).
  • Sign-off of paperwork accompanying parts (MOT, Inspection Traveler).
  • Proper handling of parts.
  • Proper identification of parts / parts containers to maintain traceability to job number & split lot.
