About The Position

Avalign is seeking a skilled CNC Mill Turn Machinist to work at its Akron, Ohio location on the first shift. The role performs setup and operational functions for CNC mill turn machines used to fabricate medical instruments and implants. It also involves deburring and inspecting parts using various tools and equipment. The position supports production of custom medical devices that meet customer quality specifications.

Requirements

At least 2 years of relevant experience operating a CNC machine.
Advanced print-reading knowledge.
Advanced GD&T knowledge.
Experience performing CNC setups.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment.
Quick learner with an interest in developing knowledge of manufacturing processes.
Reliable and understands the importance of attendance.
Open, cooperative, positive, and team-oriented approach to assignments.
Ability to plan and execute plans across teams.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Independently operate various CNC mill turn machines.
Perform machine setup activities.
Independently perform daily machine preventive maintenance.
Process required documentation, including job travelers and I.P. sheets.
Facilitate use of the First Piece Log.
Conduct tool changes.
Conduct changeovers and tool-size changes.
Set tooling on all machine types within the assigned zone.
