About The Position

Founded in 1990, FERPA Precision Machine, Inc. is a family-owned precision machining company with over 35 years of manufacturing excellence. We produce precision components for the aerospace, space, industrial, and energy industries using state-of-the-art CNC equipment in a clean, air-conditioned facility. As our milling department continues to grow, we're looking for motivated individuals who want to build a long-term career in manufacturing. No machining experience? No problem—we're looking for attitude, reliability, and a willingness to learn. We'll teach you the rest. As a CNC Mill Operator, you'll be responsible for operating CNC milling machines that have been set up by our experienced machinists. You'll inspect parts, monitor machine performance, and ensure quality standards are met while gaining valuable hands-on experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to start a career in advanced manufacturing. Our goal is to develop entry-level operators into skilled setup machinists and, eventually, CNC programmers for those who demonstrate the desire and ability to grow.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 pounds.
  • This position requires U.S. Person status as defined under applicable ITAR regulations.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and dependable attendance
  • Team-oriented mindset
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to stay focused, organized, and follow detailed instructions
  • Mechanical aptitude and comfort using basic hand tools
  • Interest in learning and building a long-term career in manufacturing

Nice To Haves

  • Previous manufacturing or machine shop experience is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Load and unload material into CNC milling machines.
  • Start and monitor machine cycles.
  • Inspect finished parts using calipers, micrometers, and gauges (training provided).
  • Follow work instructions and setup sheets.
  • Replace cutting tools as instructed.
  • Deburr and clean machined parts.
  • Keep machines supplied with material.
  • Report machine alarms or quality concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures.
  • Assist with other production tasks as needed.
