About The Position

Vestcom, an Avery Dennison Company, is seeking a CNC Machinist who acts as a "Technical Pilot" with a "zero-defect" mindset and a deep curiosity for how things work. This role offers autonomy to own your workstation and support to grow technical skills. The position involves manual and precision machining, technical troubleshooting, blueprint mastery, equipment care, and shop-wide collaboration.

Requirements

High School Diploma/GED required.
3-5 years of hands-on CNC experience or equivalent training.
Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and hand/power tools.
Basic computer skills (Outlook, Word, Excel).
Ability to stand for 75% of the shift, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a loud manufacturing environment with appropriate PPE.

Nice To Haves

A Technical Certificate or Associate’s Degree in CNC Machining is highly preferred.
Familiarity or working knowledge of G-code is a significant advantage.

Responsibilities

Set up and manually operate conventional lathes, vertical milling machines, and machining centers with high precision to fabricate complex, one-off, or high-tolerance custom parts without relying on automated G-code programs.
Use machine manuals, precise measuring tools, and hands-on mechanical diagnostics to independently identify, troubleshoot, and resolve machining issues or mechanical setups on the fly.
Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics to manually layout, calculate, and machine intricate profiles involving tight radiuses, angles, and varied tangent points.
Perform routine light maintenance, continuous cleaning, and preventative upkeep on assigned manual machines to ensure peak operational accuracy and maintain a safe workspace.
Partner with cross-functional shop team members, support plant-wide facility projects, and lend machining expertise across the floor wherever needed.
