About The Position

American Manufacturing Solutions is seeking an experienced CNC Machinist for a full-time, day shift position. This role involves performing CNC mill and lathe job setups, operating CNC machines for both short and long production runs, and assisting in the training of less experienced staff. The position requires attention to detail, the ability to interpret blueprints, and perform inspections using precision measuring instruments. Requirements

  • 5 years minimum demonstrable experience.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Be attentive, attention to detail!

Nice To Haves

  • Mazak lathe experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Perform CNC mill and lathe job setups, from simple to complex, for first run and repeat production.
  • Perform First Article paperwork, establish and document setup instructions, and create tooling/fixturing documentation.
  • Operate CNC machines for short and long run production.
  • Assist in training less experienced staff.
  • Optimize and edit CNC code, and use software to generate CNC code when needed.
  • Set up and operate CNC mills or lathes to produce precision machined parts, including reading and interpreting blueprints, work orders, setup, and tooling instructions.
  • Perform first and second article and in-process inspections using precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance on machines and tools.
  • Replace worn tooling as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties to maintain a clean work environment.
  • Work with team members to produce products that meet customer requirements.
  • Assist in training other associates on machine setup and operation.
  • Maintain accurate records of machine setups, production runs, and inspections.
  • Suggest improvements to machining methods for efficiency.
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner.
  • Accurate and complete time tracking with achievement of expected B-B cycles and shift yields.
  • Understand and read blueprints, including part views, definitions, and footnotes.
  • Keep up with offline support tasks.
