About The Position

Leidos is seeking a talented CNC Machinist 2nd shift to join their Mechanical Manufacturing team in Huntsville, AL. The ideal candidate will need to have experience in programming, setup, and operation of a variety of machine tools including CNC Mills and CNC Lathes. This role will work on different projects in an ever changing, rapid paced R&D environment with little or no assistance. The CNC Machinist must be capable of reading engineering drawings and CAD models to produce unique precision parts.

Requirements

• High School diploma/GED with at least 1 year of precision machining experience on CNC Mills & CNC Lathes.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 35+ pounds unassisted.
• Ability to stand for long periods of time.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to work a full-time, 4-days per week 10-hours per shift, 2nd shift.
• Must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in the manufacturing of complex aerospace components from exotic materials, such as Titanium.
• 5-axis and/or mill-turn experience.
• 5 axis machining experience with Fanuc, Siemens 840D controls and MAPS programming.
• Two years of 2D & 3D experience with a CAM software tool.
• SURFCAM, Edgecam or Catia experience.
• Experience machining in a prototype environment.

Responsibilities
