About The Position

Schultes Precision is hiring CNC Machinists for mill and lathe operations on first and second shifts. Candidates may specialize in milling or turning, or have experience in both. The role sets up and/or operates CNC mills or lathes to produce high-quality precision components in a tight-tolerance machining environment. The employer is willing to train a candidate with strong mechanical aptitude.

Requirements

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.
• Strong understanding of machining practices, cutting tools, and feeds and speeds.
• Reliability, punctuality, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Experience with precision measurement instruments.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience operating CNC mills, lathes, or both.
• Strong mechanical aptitude; the employer is willing to train a suitable candidate.
• Basic understanding of G/M codes.

Responsibilities

• Set up and/or operate CNC mills or lathes to machine parts to specification.
• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work instructions.
• Perform tool changes, offsets, and adjustments to maintain part accuracy.
• Inspect parts using precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and height gages.
• Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot minor issues.
• Perform basic program edits on CNC controls such as Fanuc, Haas, or similar.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in accordance with 5S principles.
• Collaborate with Quality, Engineering, and Production teams to resolve issues and improve processes.
• Follow safety guidelines and standard operating procedures.
