About The Position

Gaishin Manufacturing – Grand Rapids is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented CNC Machinist to join our C-Shift team. The CNC Machinist will operate and monitor Swiss-style and Mill/Turn CNC lathes, ensuring the production of high-quality precision parts in line with company and customer standards. This weekend shift offers a unique opportunity: work just 36 hours over 3 days and get paid for a full 40-hour week—a great option for work-life balance while building a long-term career in precision manufacturing.

Requirements

Minimum 2 years of CNC operation experience (Swiss-style experience preferred).
Ability to read and understand blueprints, work instructions, and quality requirements.
Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
Understanding of basic production processes and quality checks.
Strong attention to detail and dependable work ethic.
Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks during a full shift.
Team player with good communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

Previous experience operating Swiss-style lathes or multi-axis machines.
Background in aerospace or medical manufacturing.
Experience with lean manufacturing principles.

Responsibilities

Operate CNC Swiss-style and Mill/Turn lathes to produce precision parts.
Perform in-process inspections using calipers, micrometers, and other measurement tools to ensure parts meet specifications.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and GD&T requirements.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
Monitor equipment for proper operation and escalate issues to set up technicians or supervisors as needed.
Follow all quality standards, production procedures, and safety protocols.
Collaborate with team members and provide clear shift handoffs to ensure smooth operations.
