About The Position

Ahaus Tool & Engineering is hiring an advanced-level CNC Machinist for its tool shop in Richmond, Indiana. The role sets up and operates CNC machining centers to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts. The position may begin on first shift and could move to second shift after training is complete, if preferred. Requirements

Strong understanding of precision machining.
Ability to work independently with little to no supervision.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with team members across departments.
General computer and software navigation skills.

Nice To Haves

Vocational education and/or at least 3 years of experience in a job shop or non-production environment.

Responsibilities

Set up and operate CNC machining centers to machine metallic and nonmetallic parts.
Write simple CNC programs at the machine and troubleshoot programs.
Perform in-process quality inspections and adjust the machine when needed.
Perform machine setups as required.
Collaborate with engineers, lead toolmakers, programmers, and other team members to resolve machining challenges.
Interpret blueprints, including dimensional tolerances and GD&T.
Perform basic machine maintenance.
Perform other duties as assigned.
