About The Position

Sets up and operates various machines, most of which will be computer numerically controlled (CNC). Equipment may include CNC Press Brakes, CNC Machining Center, CNC Rollers, CNC lathes, plate cut, manual lathes, and manual drills. The role involves reading blueprints, selecting and adjusting machine settings for optimal quality and efficiency, and operating previously programmed CNC machines. Safety and performing basic maintenance (TPMs) are also key aspects of the position.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • Ability to read blueprints or process sheets for specifications such as dimensions and tolerances, tooling instructions, feed rates, cutting speeds, depth of cuts, and cutting tools.
  • Ability to select proper equipment, including tooling, fixtures and accessories.
  • Ability to adjust machine settings.
  • Ability to read and understand measuring tools such as angle and degree square and tape measure.
  • Ability to utilize measuring tools to verify product quality.
  • Ability to load and unload raw material and completed product.
  • Ability to operate CNC machines that have been previously programmed.
  • Ability to perform and document level 1 TPMs.
  • Ability to work in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months related experience in a manufacturing environment and/or additional related education.

  • Loads and unloads raw material and completed product, at times with overhead hoist.
  • Operates CNC machines that have been previously programmed.
  • Performs and documents level 1 TPMs.
  • Works in a safe manner at all times, following all safety guidelines.
