About The Position

Our machinists at Silfex are integral in making our high quality precision silicon components. As a machinist you will be responsible for safely setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce the highest quality parts and meet the customer expectations, in the most efficient manner. Requirements

Minimum of High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 1 year of CNC machining experience on 3 or 5-axis machines.
Basic shop math skills.
Microsoft Office experience (specifically Excel).
Ability to read and follow work instructions.
Able to perform job functions independently with frequent support.
Basic understanding of 5S and Lean manufacturing.
Detail oriented.
Quality and safety minded.

Nice To Haves

Experience machining Si, glass, or other brittle material.

Responsibilities

Safely setting up and operating 5-axis CNC machines to produce the highest quality parts and meet customer expectations efficiently.
Operating 3 to 5-axis CNC machine tools to accurately machine parts per work instructions and manufacturing plan.
Utilizing appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) to minimize exposure to hazards.
Performing quality inspections to ensure accurate production of parts throughout the process.
Handling parts and materials with care and maintaining their cleanliness.
Proactively supporting department and team work by maintaining communication through Teams/Email and participating in shift change meetings.
Accurately recording and interpreting production information in PLEX, including verifying track numbers, substitute part revisions, and machine downtime.
Utilizing systems to document and review information, including maintenance dispatch, completed Preventative Maintenance, and document measurement scans.
Producing parts according to standards by utilizing production documentation, correctly loading and unloading parts on the machine, and verifying part orientation.
Strictly following work instructions, setup sheets, and other production-related information.
Performing assigned preventative maintenance and maintaining coolant lines and nozzle positioning.
Setting up machines for production to ensure they are operating correctly.
Assisting in applying lean manufacturing concepts and 5S.
Demonstrating ownership of continuous improvement ideas and activities.
Performing other job duties as assigned.
