CNC Machinist - Day Shift - Madison Heights MI
About The Position
We’re looking for experienced CNC machinists who care about quality as much as production. Whether your background is primarily in mills, lathes, or both, we’re interested in people who want to continue building their skills while producing precision components our customers depend on. This isn’t a button-pushing position. It’s an opportunity to work alongside people who appreciate good machining, support one another, and take pride in getting the job done right. Every day brings a different challenge. One day you may be proving out a new setup, and the next you’re finding a better way to machine a difficult feature or helping solve a production issue before it impacts a customer.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of CNC machining experience.
- Experience setting up and operating CNC mills, CNC lathes, or both.
- Ability to read blueprints and understand GD&T.
- Strong understanding of machining fundamentals.
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other precision inspection equipment.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Reliable attendance and a team-first attitude.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with both mills and lathes.
- Basic CNC programming knowledge.
- Multi-axis machining experience.
- Aerospace, defense, or other precision manufacturing experience.
- Familiarity with wire EDM.
- ERP or manufacturing software experience.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC mills and/or lathes.
- Read and interpret blueprints, work instructions, and specifications.
- Perform first-piece, in-process, and final inspections.
- Use precision measuring equipment to verify part quality.
- Troubleshoot tooling, setup, and machining issues.
- Make program edits, tool offsets, and wear adjustments when required.
- Work with Engineering, Quality, and Production to continuously improve manufacturing processes.
- Maintain accurate documentation and inspection records.
- Help improve efficiency, quality, and consistency throughout the shop.
