About The Position

Montana Precision Products (MPP) is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team. MPP specializes in producing complex, high-precision components for the aerospace and industrial sectors using state-of-the-art technology. This role involves manufacturing machined components according to customer requirements and production schedules, including CNC machining, drilling, milling, lathe operations, deburring, and cleaning. The position requires the use of Monitoring and Measuring Equipment (M&ME) to inspect product for dimensional conformance, reading and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) data, and complying with internal quality systems and business policies.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of CNC programming with CAM Software (preferably Gibbs CAM)
  • Experience with various M&ME to measure machined features.
  • Working knowledge of CNC programming and Haas / Mazak Machining centers
  • Strong mathematical, analytical, writing and communication skills.
  • Proven history of completing paperwork accurately, legibly, and timely.
  • Must be able to work independently and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to read/write/speak English
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen
  • US Person Status (i.e., U.S. citizens, permanent residents, and other protected individuals under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)) due to access to U.S. export-controlled technology.

Responsibilities

  • Runs CNC programs; perform required mill, drill, lathe, and clean operations on production parts
  • Reads and understands blueprints, travelers/routers, and work instructions including GD&T data on machine prints.
  • Works with Engineering to test and create CNC programs and Machining processes for production parts
  • Requires minimal supervision to plan and schedule workload according to production schedule and troubleshoots Machining issues that arise to meet Delivery/Quality needs
  • Inspects, maintains, and logs preventative maintenance on equipment needed for inspection and machining.
  • Generates inspection reports and First Article Inspection (FAI) reports.
  • Sets up material, machines, and tooling according to work instructions to produce machined components.
  • Cleans work area, tools, and equipment at end of shift.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
