About The Position

Heroux-Devtek is an international leader in aviation and the world's 3rd largest producer of landing gear, serving civil and military aerospace markets. The Springfield facility is a center of excellence for manufacturing medium to large complex landing gear and titanium components. This role is part of the Central Division and will be responsible for critical machining operations for major commercial and military aircraft programs. The company focuses on the latest manufacturing technologies, including machining automation and techniques, to remain a leading producer of complex landing gear components.

Forefront of the technology using FMS (Flexible Manufacturing System) for our most critical programs and dynamic probing

Responsibilities

Machine Control which includes pull and send programs; tool change; trouble shooting; entering tool and D-Comp offsets; M.D.I.
Understanding setup sheets, tool lists and Operational Detail Sheets
Calculating Work Offsets/Indicating
Understanding program/D-Comps
Tightening and clamping pressures (i.e. ‘Free State’ condition and part clamped maintaining free state)
Cutting pressures/Boring Bar adjustments; spring pass; test cut bore
Tape proving new and modified programs, anticipating what the machine will do before it cuts
Preventive maintenance
6-S Activities
Pre-start up inspections which incorporate Health & Safety awareness
Running a combined number of machines simultaneously in a safe and effective manner. (Combo)
Other duties as assigned
Adhering at all times to company policies, procedures and health and safety requirements
