About The Position

Radius Aerospace manufactures sheet metal parts and assemblies for the aviation industry, using advanced metal‑forming and specialized processes across commercial, military, regional jet, helicopter, and general aviation markets. Use your CNC experience in a growing aerospace manufacturer. Set up and operate CNC machines using engineer‑provided instructions, blueprints, and sketches. Work across 3-, 4-, and 5‑axis machines and use machinist hand tools and measuring instruments to produce aluminum and titanium parts. Monitor product quality, follow control processes, and collaborate on improvements. Training and certification opportunities may be available, including tuition reimbursement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), required
  • Knowledge of M and G code
  • Basic computer proficiency including data entry into manufacturing software system
  • Functional knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years previous conventional milling experience, preferred
  • Ability to setup countersink with micro stop, preferred
  • Familiar with FANUC Controls, preferred

Responsibilities

  • Study blueprints, sketches, drawings, manuals, specifications, or sample part to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished work piece, sequence of operations, and setup requirements.
  • Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, routers, and grinders.
  • Calculate and set controls to regulate machining factors such as speed, feed, coolant flow, and depth and angle of cut, or enters commands to retrieve, input, or edit computerized machine control media.
  • Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjusts machine controls or control media as required.
  • Verify conformance of finished work piece to specifications.
  • Set up and operate machine on trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data.
  • Confer with engineers, production personnel, programmers, or others to resolve machining or assembly problems.
