About The Position

We are hiring skilled CNC Machinists to join our high-mix, low-volume aerospace and defense machine shop. In this role, you will machine mission-critical, tight-tolerance components for satellites, fighter jets, helicopters, and beyond. Our machinists own their work end-to-end, from setup through final inspection, and play a direct role in quality, delivery performance, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

7+ years in precision, tight-tolerance machining (more is always welcome).
Strong tenure in Aerospace manufacturing and machining environments.
Experience in ISO 9001 or AS9100 shops.
Proven ability to hold .0005” (5 tenths / ~13 microns) or tighter on critical features, and the manual skills to verify it.
Deep understanding of complex blueprints and advanced GD&T (true position, parallelism, profile, concentricity, flatness, coaxiality).
Extensive experience setting up multi-axis equipment (5-axis mills, mill-turns, and/or multi-axis lathes).
Comfortable in shops where setup time is 30%+ of the job, frequently handling complex setups with 10+ tools.

Nice To Haves

The ability to program/operate CMMs and independently conduct formal First Article Inspections (FAI) is highly preferred.
Experience fully programming from scratch in Mastercam is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

Setup, run, inspect, and document results across our floor, heavily utilizing advanced 5-axis machines and mill-turn centers.
Leverage deep manual machining fundamentals to troubleshoot chatter, read chip formation, optimize tool pressure, and tackle the most complex setups.
Select tooling, establish offsets, build bulletproof workholding strategies, and optimize processes.
Hold tight tolerances from the first piece through the final run using manual micrometers, indicators, and precision gauges.
Read, understand, and efficiently edit G-code and M-code on the floor to restore quality and maximize throughput.
Troubleshoot dimensional, tooling, and machine variables on the fly to achieve first-article success on both proven and unproven parts.
