This position involves operating CNC machine centers such as vertical/horizontal mills and/or turning centers. The role requires operating control consoles to enter data for machine operation, loading CNC programs and tool magazines, and setting up and positioning parts in holding fixtures. The machinist will also edit programs as required to produce optimal results and work independently with minimal direction. Key responsibilities include setting up and running turning or milling centers, independently performing inspections, and caring for parts in accordance with procedures for corrosion protection, handling, and Foreign Object Debris (FOD). The role also involves working to standard, contributing to continuous improvement, communicating issues to the team leader in a timely manner, and leaving effective notes for the next shift.
