About The Position
Momentum Manufacturing Group - Evans machine operators produce a variety of precision metal parts primarily from Aluminum & Steel using computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools such as Vertical, Horizontal and Multi-axis Milling Machines. This position is classified as non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). Non-Exempt employees are eligible for overtime pay in accordance with applicable federal and state laws.
Requirements
- A High School Diploma or GED Preferred
- Tasks require standing and walking 100% of the time; lifting, reaching, and repetitive motion
- Tasks require use of hand tools and power tools
- Tasks require clear close vision for inspection of parts
- Tasks require lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Must work in a safe and reliable manner.
- Must be able to work as a team player
Nice To Haves
- 2+ years' experience CNC machining
- Certification in CNC machining or related technical training
- Knowledge of CAD/CAM software.
- Understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Previous experience working in a safety-conscious industrial environment.
- Lean or process improvement exposure
Responsibilities
- Review blueprints and/or written specifications for a job
- Apply machine tool math
- Understand and monitor the feed rate and speed of machine
- Set-up controls, fixtures, tooling, and make cuts to make machined parts. Make adjustments required to produce good product
- Ensure machine is working properly through standard preventative maintenance procedures and to make certain machine is properly feeding, cutting, cooling and lubricating part while in operation
- Utilize specialized inspection tools to check tolerances
- Understand and maintain QC procedures
- Work within a visual Lean Manufacturing Environment/System; maintain as clean and safe work environment
- Understand and follow all QMS procedures (based in ISO9001)
- Must follow procedures and execute tasks assigned by Team Leader
- Must comply with ALL Company code of conduct, safety and procedural rules and regulations
- Support additional tasks as needed to meet business needs
